Sex Offender Sentenced for Using MySpace:
26-year-old Patrick Wong of Lubbock, Texas is a registered sex offender who was sentenced to 5 years behind bars for violating his parole by being on MySpace. Wong was originally arrested in 2001 for exposing himself to a 10-year-old girl in the Wal*Mart toy department. And in 2002 was placed in probation for failing to register as a sex offender.

A Lubbock registered sex offender we found on my space during a NewsChannel 11 investigation will be spending the next five years in jail.

Friday, 26-year-old Patrick Wong was sentenced to five years for violating the terms of his probation. One of those conditions was that the former Texas Tech student was not supposed to be on MySpace. Wong is eligible for parole in two and a half years.

Another paroled registered sex offender who was caught using MySpace is out of jail. Paul Gutierrez was sent to prison three months ago for violating his parole by having a MySpace account. Gutierrez is under close supervision and must carry a tracking device. Since his release, he has taken his MySpace profile down.
